Flatten Presentation Slides + Export as Print Ready PDF - PowerPoint Add-in
Are you creating your books, digital designs, banners, and promotional materials for print in PowerPoint?
Then you know for print you need to have your slides/pages flattened and converted to PDF.
I showed in my KDP book samples the importance of flattening PDF files to make them print-ready and to insure the file prints exactly how you intended.
The normal procedure for PowerPoint users is to first change the export DPI value of slides in the system registry, then export all slides as PNG, then import them back and convert them to PDF to be ready for print without losing quality.
This add-in is created to reduce those extra steps by flattening all the slides and exporting them as a single Print Ready PDF.
First usage:
After downloading and unpacking the file, move the file (PPAM) to the folder:
C:\Users\YOURPCNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AddIns
Run PowerPoint and go to File - Options - Add-ins - Manage - PowerPoint Add-ins - GO
If it is not listed there, click on Add New, and Load.
It will appear as an additional tab in your ribbon.
When you are happy with your presentation and ready to export, click on the Export tab and it will automatically flatten all your slides and export them as Print Ready PDFs you can upload online to your store (Teachers Pay Teachers, Etsy, Creative Fabrica, KDP Amazon etc.) or send to a print agency.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If you can not see the Add-In folder, go to View and select Hidden items.
If you stop, close, or in any way interrupt export while it is performing it, or during the Save window is open you cancel the save you could have an error during the next export.
OPTION #1
Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Marina Art Design
and delete the folder Marina Art Design completely, and try running flattener again.
OPTION #2
If the above doesn’t fix the error check do you have a file in the print queue? If yes, delete it.
OPTION #3
Restart Print Spooler.
