4000 Customizable Heart SVG Mazes With Tutorial

Hello Everybody.

Someone asked me to add decorative and functional elements on top of the generated mazes. I used Adobe Illustrator script action for that but the problem with using Adobe is - not everyone has it, and also when the script is running you can't use your computer.

So today 22/01/2023 I decided to see is there a better way to do this. I created one maze and on top of that maze, I had to add a heart.

I saved the maze SVG file with and without heart and then opened them both in Notepad++ to see the difference. The difference between the two files was a bunch of text on the bottom - and that text turned out to be the heart I added. By copy-pasting that text at the end of the SVG file I managed to add the same heart to all maze files with one click.

This listing is for everything that I did today - my thought process of how I created mazes, how I drew heart, how I talked with ChatGPT to help me make the Python script and finally mazes I produced.

The key point of these mazes is that they are not "ready" to be used in print. You have to add starting character or image and an ending character or image.

The point is that with this collection even if millions of people get it, by adding their own unique theme and illustrations, each maze book will be 100% unique, no repeating content.

All the images and data needed to run this on your Windows PC with Python, Notepad and Inkscape installed.

You can use the same logic and the same Python script to add custom characters to the mazes. Just save two identical maze files with a different names. In one file add your characters. Open both files in notepad to see the difference. That difference will be your characters. Adjust the Python script to add that text to all maze files.
