Are you interested in trying out AI text-to-image generation to create coloring books?
The YouTube videos about this are coming up from every corner and you still did not decide to try it out? Wondering what is actually needed to make one coloring book? Time? Investment? What about quality?
I tested it, as part of my huge „Is AI really easy money“ project and this is the result of the past 10 days:
- 3000 images generated using Midjourney ($37 a month subscription)
- 1 minute to generate an image, 1 minute to upscale = 100 hours = 4 days (took me 8 because I sleep during the night ;D)
- Then it took me 2 days to delete all the images that have errors, deformations, and watermarks.
- That left me with 1539 images, so almost half were deleted.
- I vector-traced them and the quality is just not at the level I am comfortable publishing.
But if you want to try it out, if you want to save 10 days of your work, plus the money spent on Midjourney subscription, Internet, power supply, computer etc. you can buy these 1539 images for $5 in my Gumroad store and see for yourself, can you make a coloring book with this.

Lots of people are doing it, and it is getting sales. I can't deny they have sales, BSR is there. Some have 5* reviews so I guess people are OK with it.

Midjourney is going to cost you 30-60$ a month, plus the time you have to take to process all the images, pick out the best ones.
