OVERLAP two images on top of each other PNG, IN BULK

I had a need to quickly overlap two images collection, one being transparent PNG and the other PNG or JPG.

Both files have the same dimensions and the files I want to overlap have the same name.

If you feel you could use something that does this effectively, this is my Python tiny program exe (Windows only) that is doing exactly that, merging two images into one.
